Details

The old run down building, situated in the prestigious location of Northallerton High Street, has been transformed into a vibrant recreational facility maintaining and enhancing its original features. The quality of the workmanship within this project is outstanding. The brief comprised refurbishment and extensions of a Grade Two listed building to provide accommodation for retail and offices, retail to the ground floor, offices and ancillary accommodation to the first and second floors.

This is an award winning project completed to programme and on budget, and though initially tendered, the project became so complex with the scope of works changing from day to day as a result of the desire to maintain as many of the original features as possible, such as stone floors, fireplaces, stone lintels, decorative cornices, decorative arches, moulded pilasters, arched and bay windows, feature doors, window shutters etc., that the project was run on a partnered “open book” basis, and the final product identifies what can be achieved with teamwork working within the principles of partnering.
