NEWS.... Ripon Workhouse Museum has won the Award from Ripon Civic Society for 'The Flagon Best Restored Building'...... October 2010.

The contract works involved altering and extending The Workhouse Museum.

Alterations comprised of works including general structural repairs to the building fabric (underpinning works, masonry crack repairs, strengthening of floor wall & roof structures), joinery works and decorations, restorations works to the building fabric, together with upgrading to the existing electrical power & lighting systems and heating system. 

The new extensions comprised of a two storey extension to house and a new platform lift and single storey extension forming a family room, all the extensions being in traditional masonry construction. New below ground drainage and a re-routed below ground electricity supply was also to be installed, together with external works to railings, driveways & walls, all as detailed on the architects, structural and services engineers drawings & specifications.
